Applications of AISI 304 plate, hot-rolled, solution annealed, 1D finish

AISI 304 (EN 1.4301) plate, hot-rolled, solution annealed and pickled: this is the 1D finish, the one typical of heavy stainless plate. A non-hardenable austenitic steel with good general corrosion resistance, excellent weldability and toughness that holds at low temperature.

Compliance and designation: AISI 304 / EN 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10) according to EN 10088-2, the standard for stainless flat products; EN 10204 3.1 certification on request.

1D finish: hot rolling, solution heat treatment and pickling. The surface is matt and free of mill scale, suited to machining, welding and further finishing.

Thickness: from 5 to 130 mm. Widths and lengths on request; the plate can be supplied whole or cut to size.

Typical applications: tanks and containers, flanges and plates, equipment for the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, stainless fabrication and machined components.

Corrosion resistance: excellent in the atmosphere and in many mildly aggressive media; with chlorides or harsher chemistry a molybdenum grade such as AISI 316/316L is preferable.
